College Football Power Rankings- going into Week 6

The calendar has turned to October, the leaves are falling, and air is getting a little chillier. With all that means that fall is in full swing and the college football regular season is almost half over. What better time to debut my weekly power rankings. They are similar to any poll's Top 25 and will become a combo of that and the BCS poll when that debuts. Each week, I will rank my top 25 teams and add 5 teams who are on the outside looking in. These 5 teams might have fallen out or on the cusp of getting in.

Here are the rankings for the week of October 5th:

Top 25 Power Rankings
1) Florida (at LSU)
2) Texas (vs Colorado)
3) Alabama (at Mississippi)
4) LSU (vs Florida)
5) Virginia Tech (vs Boston College)
6) Boise State (IDLE)
7) USC (IDLE)
8) Cincinnati (IDLE)
9) Ohio State (vs Wisconsin)
10) TCU (IDLE)
11) Miami (FL) (vs Florida A&M)
12) Iowa (vs Michigan)
13) Oregon (at UCLA)
14) Penn State (vs Eastern Illinois)
15) Auburn (at Arkansas)
16) Kansas (vs Iowa State)
17) Oklahoma State (at Texas A&M)
18) South Florida (IDLE)
19) Oklahoma (vs Baylor)
20) Brigham Young (at UNLV)
21) Mississippi (vs Alabama)
22) Georgia Tech (at Florida State)
23) Nebraska (at Missouri)
24) Missouri (vs Nebraska)
25) South Carolina (vs Kentucky)

Outside 5
1) Georgia (at Tennessee)
2) Michigan (at Iowa)
3) Notre Dame (IDLE)
4) Houston (at Mississippi State)
5) West Virginia (at Syracuse)

The big match this week for teams in the Top 25 is the Florida at LSU game pitting two top 5 teams against each other. That alone guarantees we will see a little bit of change in the rankings next week. Also Nebraska goes to Missouri and most likely the loser will fall out of my poll next week.
