Week 9 NFL Power Rankings

The season is about at the half way point. Only the Colts and Saints remain undefeated and have switched spots this week. The Broncos fell to the Ravens and fell a spot in the rankings. The Rams and Titans finally got in the win column and moved up the rankings. And the Buccaneers are the last team that hasn't won yet. Could be a long road for them.

2009 Power Rankings (going into Week 9):
1.(2) Saints (7-0): This team continues to impress each week. They will easily get to double digit wins this year.
2.(1) Colts (7-0): Peyton Manning didn't throw a touchdown, but they didn't him too. Good teams win the close games late in the year.
3.(4) Vikings (7-1): Brett Favre and the Vikings were too much for the Packers again as they swept the season series. Favre 2, Packers 0.
4.(3) Broncos (6-1): To get to 6 wins without a loss was a surprise. This loss will only help them get better.
5.(6) Patriots (5-2): They are rested and should be able to come off a bye strong.
6.(8) Bengals (5-2): They had a week off. They come off a bye with a couple of big division games.
7.(7) Steelers (5-2): A week off could only help this team as they turn to making another run.
8.(10) Eagles (5-2): They got past the Giants, now they turn to the Cowboys to take control of the NFC East.
9.(11) Cowboys (5-2): They have vastly improved and seem to be in a groove. A big matchup with the Eagles looms with first place in the NFC East on the line.
10.(9) Falcons (4-3): They played well in New Orleans, but they must snap this two game losing streak pronto.
11.(14) Ravens (4-3): They showed how good they are by giving the Broncos their first loss.
12.(13) Packers (4-3): They need to find a way to protect Aaron Rodgers better. Brett Favre got the best of his former team again.
13.(12) Cardinals (4-3): They looked dominant against the Giants, but if you turn the ball over as much as they did this past week; you can't beat anyone.
14.(18) Texans (5-3): They are hitting their groove and have the Colts ahead this week.
15.(6) Giants (5-3): They lost again and need to fix the leaks before this ship sinks.
16.(17) Chargers (4-3): They continued to beat up on a weak division opponent.
17.(16) Bears (4-3): Nothing like facing the Browns to build your confidence.
18.(15) Jets (4-4): They should have won, but they decided to give up two 100 yards returns to Ted Ginn Jr.
19.(19) Dolphins (3-4): Wow. Two 100 yard returns. That sure helps your offense.
20.(20) 49ers (3-4): They are kept the game close against the Colts, but still can't seem to hang with the top teams.
21.(21) Jaguars (3-4): This team continues to be up and down and got run over by a previously winless Titans team.
22.(24) Panthers (3-4): They usually turn the ball over, but the Cardinals gave them the gifts.
23.(22) Bills (3-5): The offensive woes continue. Barely able to put up a touchdown this week.
24.(23) Seahawks (2-5): This team right now is a shell of what is could be.
25.(25) Redskins (2-5): No game was maybe a blessing for them.
26.(30) Titans (1-6): Finally, they have broken through. Let's see how many more they can get.
27.(26) Raiders (2-6): Another tough loss for a bad franchise.
28.(28) Chiefs (1-6): A bye and matchup with an inconsistent Jaguars team could help them.
29.(27) Lions (1-6): Losing to the Rams means they just loss a winnable game.
30.(32) Rams (1-7): All the hardwork finally paid off as they got that first win.
31.(29) Browns (1-7): Another poor game in a season that seems to be filled with them.
32.(31) Buccaneers (0-7): They didn't lose due to a bye, but they are the last winless team.
