Week 15 NFL Power Rankings

The rankings don't look too different as the Saints and the Colts are still at the top and unbeaten. The Vikings got back in the winning column and remain at #3 while the Chargers stay at #4. The Eagles leaped into the top 5 and the Bengals fell two spots to #7. The Browns win over the Steelers launched them a few spots and the Rams are the new low team of the league.

2009 Power Rankings (going into Week 15):
1.(1) Saints (13-0): They continue to find ways to win despite the fact that the team isn’t playing as strong as in the beginning of the season.
2.(2) Colts (13-0): They face a tough divisional game against the Jaguars this week and they are hungry.
3.(3) Vikings (11-2): A nice rebound win against a good team.
4.(4) Chargers (10-3): Another win and this team hasn’t lost in December in quite some time.
5.(7) Eagles (9-4): Another victory over the Giants has the Eagles looking good in the NFC East along with that big play offense.
6.(8) Packers (9-4): This team is starting to look very dangerous and could make a run if they make the postseason.
7.(5) Bengals (9-4): The offense didn’t play very well and they lost a big game. They have to turn around and get ready for the Chargers. Not easy at all.
8.(11) Patriots (8-5): They didn’t play especially well, but after a couple of road losses, they will take it.
9.(6) Cardinals (8-5): Just when we think they might go on a roll, they stumble and do it in big fashion. Seven turnovers is not what playoff teams do.
10.(9) Cowboys (8-5): December is continuing its evil trend for this team and now they have a big challenge against the Saints if they are to keep themselves in line for the postseason.
11.(10) Broncos (8-5): Losing to the Colts is nothing to be ashamed about. Being 2-5 in your last 7 games is as they are slipping slowly.
12.(14) Ravens (7-6): They are starting to look very good again putting up lots of points and running the ball. They have a great shot at a postseason birth again.
13.(16) Dolphins (7-6): A quality win over the Jaguars has the Dolphins very optimistic.
14.(12) Giants (7-6): This team has no identity on defense. Something that won them a title a couple years ago.
15.(18) Titans (6-7): HB Chris Johnson continues to amaze, but QB Vince Young will need to be healthy if this team is to continue to make a late season surge.
16.(13) Jaguars (7-6): They have a tough task going against an unbeaten Indy that wants to win.
17.(19) Jets (7-6): They have a good shot at the postseason after their mid season stumble. A lot depends on those last two and a win next week wouldn’t hurt.
18.(17) Falcons (6-7): To have back-to-back winning seasons and a possible playoff birth, they will need to win out.
19.(15) Steelers (6-7): Hell has not been unleashed, but points have against them and they are in the middle of a 5 game losing streak. Winning out might not be enough.
20.(23) 49ers (6-7): Nothing to make your team feel better than thrashing the defending NFC champions.
21.(20) Texans (6-7): Racking up points against the Seahawks could be the beginning of a solid finish.
22.(21) Panthers (5-8): They found a way to slow down the Patriots’ offense or at least WR Randy Moss. I guess that’s a win.
23.(26) Bills (5-8): A solid win despite poor play. They can’t all be pretty.
24.(22) Seahawks (5-8): This team continues to regress and there need to be quite a few moves if they are to be good again.
25.(24) Bears (5-8): Offense has never been the strength of the team, but it has been hurting this year since the defense hasn’t been dominant.
26.(27) Redskins (4-9): Playing hard will get you win sometimes. It did finally this week.
27.(25) Raiders (4-9): The black hole has new meaning with this team with struggles and injuries.
28.(28) Chiefs (3-10): They loss a winnable game and now have a possible dangerous Browns’ team.
29.(32) Browns (2-11): A win against the defending champions will definitely boost confidence.
30.(29) Lions (2-11): Another Motown beatdown.
31.(30) Buccaneers (1-12): They can’t seem to find a way to win or keep it close.
32.(31) Rams (1-12): They are definitely happy they played the Lions this year.

3 weeks left. Some teams have solidified playoff spots while others are scrambling. The Saints and the Colts will continue their pursuit of perfection.
