NFL Power Rankings...End of Regular Season

The postseason is upon us. The top teams in the rankings are all in the postseason with the Colts still at the top. The Vikings and Cowboys both moved up with big wins while the Saints and the Eagles lost and fell a bit. The Chargers are at #2 after 11 straight wins and could be dangerous.

2009 Power Rankings (going into playoffs/offseason):
1.(1) Colts (14-2): They might have lost their last two, but still are the best team as they rested their starters down the stretch.
2.(2) Chargers (13-3): 11 straight entering the postseason should make them feel good.
3.(5) Vikings (12-4): Talk about making a statement and getting a bye to enter the postseason and get their confidence back up.
4.(3) Saints (13-3): They started so strong, but limp into the postseason. Hopefully the bye should heal some wounds and revitalize this team.
5.(6) Cowboys (11-5): They shocked many in December and might be on the brink of finally breaking through in the postseason.
6.(7) Packers (11-5): They gave the Cardinals a beating and now turn around and see if they can do it again.
7.(4) Eagles (11-5): Their powerful offense was shut down and they now prepare to face the Cowboys for a third time after being swept this season.
8.(8) Patriots (10-6): Playing everyone might cost them as WR Wes Welker went down in a season ending injury.
9.(9) Bengals (10-6): They decided to rest guys and now are rewarded with a rematch with the Jets.
10.(10) Cardinals (10-6): Some of their playmakers being banged up might hurt them make another Super Bowl run.
11.(12) Ravens (9-7): They did enough to ensure their wildcard spot and get a Wes Welker-less Patriots team.
12.(13) Jets (9-7): They did enough and got a break in their last two games with two teams resting players.
13.(11) Steelers (9-7): Their fury came a little too late to overcome that midseason swoon they had.
14.(15) Texans (9-7): They had their best year and it still wasn’t enough to break into the postseason.
15.(16) Falcons (9-7): Back-to-back winning seasons is at least something to celebrate.
16.(18) Titans (8-8): HB Chris Johnson could only do so much down the stretch and they just fall short of the postseason even after an 8-2 record after that horrible 0-6 start.
17.(20) Panthers (8-8): They need to show more consistency through the air to be better next year.
18.(22) 49ers (8-8): Still a young team, but showed signs that they are close to turning things around.
19.(14) Broncos (8-8): Cracks within the team at times along with some poor play cost them down the stretch.
20.(17) Giants (8-8): Their early great start was erased little by little and at the end they looked to have no heart left.
21.(19) Dolphins (7-9): A bit of step back after last year, but progress should be made again next year.
22.(23) Bears (7-9): Hopefully they can get QB Jay Cutler some more weapons to allow him to be good again.
23.(21) Jaguars (7-9): A disappointing finish capped off by being run over by the Browns.
24.(25) Bills (6-10): Let the coaching carousel begin to move around in Buffalo as they need to figure out how to fix their offensive issues.
25.(27) Browns (5-11): Did Eric Mangini do enough in December to save his job?
26.(24) Raiders (5-11): The focus turns to their owner and head coach as they finish another season with at least 11 losses.
27.(26) Seahawks (5-11): Changes will definitely occur at the top and a healthy team needs to emerge next year.
28.(30) Chiefs (4-12): A solid win against a divisional rival is a great way to finish a bad year.
29.(28) Redskins (4-12): Will Mike Shanahan be the new coach if Jim Zorn goes?
30.(29) Buccaneers (3-13): The Raheem Morris experiment will be monitored going forward.
31.(30) Lions (2-14): They doubled their win total of last year. Something to take away.
32.(32) Rams (1-15): HB Steven Jackson needs more around him or he will wear out fast.

Let the postseason commence!
